On 16th – 20th May MARLICE was held in Seville as a collaborative international forum focused on marine litter to align the different sectors to develop strategies to move towards waste-free ocean. MARLICE is organised by AEBAM, the Spanish Association of Marine Litter.

During the MARLICE 2022 several key topics were considered in the framework of participatory workshops: Innovation & business, monitoring and technologies, collaborative commitments, circular economy and plastic footprint, European policies, Regional Seas Conventions, among others. All attendants will be involved in the elaboration of common evidence-based documents toward the marine litter reduction.

The CleanAtlantic Consortium had a strong participation on the Forum

• CETMAR chaired the Monitoring and Assessment session where IEO and MITERD made presentations
• KIMO and CETMAR made presentations at the Fishing for Litter Session
• CEFAS, CEDRE, DGRM, IEO, MITERD were also present in the MARLICE Forum and ICG-ML meeting
